Business Analyst
We are looking for an experienced, client-facing Senior Business Analyst to join our product organisation and support one of our key client accounts. You will play a central role in shaping, documenting, and validating business requirements, acting as the bridge between client stakeholders, product leadership, and engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of change. This role sits within the product team and reports on a day-to-day basis to one of our existing Product Leads. You will work closely with clients, developers, and internal product stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, actionable specifications and ensure solutions are delivered in line with expectations. The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis fundamentals with enough technical fluency to engage confidently in solution discussions. You will be comfortable working in an agile delivery environment, writing high-quality Jira tickets with acceptance criteria, supporting technical refinement, and following requirements through the full delivery lifecycle from initial definition to testing and client handover. This is a London-based role with mandatory office attendance, alongside the flexibility to work remotely from home on some days.
Key Responsibilities Requirements Definition: Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements for client-driven initiatives, ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment with business objectives. Specification Ownership: Create and maintain detailed business specifications in Jira, including well-structured user stories, business context, and clear acceptance criteria for development teams. Client Engagement: Act as a client-facing representative for requirements gathering and clarification, building strong working relationships and ensuring expectations are managed effectively throughout delivery. Delivery Support: Follow development work through implementation, provide ongoing clarification to engineering teams, and answer questions that arise during technical refinement and delivery. Testing & Validation: Execute functional testing in our internal testing system to validate delivered solutions against agreed requirements prior to handover to the client. Process Modelling: Support the analysis and documentation of business processes and workflows where needed to help clarify current and target state operating models. Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear and structured updates to internal and client stakeholders on requirements status, scope changes, open questions, and delivery readiness. Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills Requirements Documentation: Strong experience writing high-quality business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Jira or similar ticketing systems. Technical Fluency: Good understanding of technical terminology and the ability to work effectively with engineering teams during refinement and delivery discussions. Data & Integration Awareness: Familiarity with relational database concepts, REST APIs, and JSON data structures sufficient to understand system behaviour, integrations, and data flows. User Interface Understanding: Ability to analyse and define user-facing functionality with an appreciation for usability, workflow, and interface behaviour. Process Analysis: Working knowledge of business process modelling concepts and experience documenting workflows, process steps, and interactions across systems and teams. Testing Discipline: Experience executing functional or business validation testing to confirm delivered solutions meet agreed requirements. Professional Experience Business Analysis Background: Minimum 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst role within a software, product, or change delivery environment. Client-facing Experience: Proven experience working directly with clients to gather requirements, manage expectations, and secure sign-off on functional scope. Investment Banking Experience: Mandatory experience working in investment banking or closely related capital markets environments. Agile Delivery Exposure: Experience working with product and engineering teams in an agile environment, supporting requirements through refinement, build, testing, and release. End-to-end Ownership: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of requirements from initial definition through to testing and final handover. Soft Skills Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences. Stakeholder Management: Confident and professional in dealing with client stakeholders and internal teams across multiple levels of seniority. Organisation: Able to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively, and maintain a high level of attention to detail. Ownership Mindset: Proactive, accountable, and comfortable working independently while remaining closely aligned with the wider product team. Analytical Thinking: Structured and methodical approach to analysing requirements, identifying gaps, and resolving ambiguity. Nice to Have Experience working with structured products. Familiarity with front-to-back workflows in capital markets or issuance-related platforms. Exposure to internal UAT, client acceptance processes, or pre-release validation activities.
