About The Role

The Senior Business Analyst - Finance & Actuarial at QBE Insurance plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions. This position involves analyzing complex business requirements, documenting detailed specifications, and collaborating closely with stakeholders and technical teams to deliver impactful solutions. The role requires a strategic thinker with a solid understanding of insurance, finance, and actuarial processes, who can translate business challenges into clear, actionable technical requirements. You will support project planning, testing, and implementation phases, ensuring that system enhancements meet quality standards and deliver measurable outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in insurance, with experience in finance or actuarial domains. Proven expertise in stakeholder management, process mapping, and data analysis is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements and user stories, with excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. Familiarity with agile methodologies, process re-engineering, and business transformation initiatives is highly desirable. A comprehensive understanding of IT systems, SLAs, and regulatory environments within insurance will be advantageous. Candidates must also hold the right to work in the UK; sponsorship may be considered at QBE’s discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and implement business-led changes aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for internal teams, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and effective communication.
  • Assist in developing project documentation, including business cases, process maps, and best practice guidelines.
  • Support end-users by gathering detailed user requirements and providing comprehensive process documentation.
  • Work closely with developers and subject matter experts to create functional specifications that define desired system outcomes.
  • Participate in project planning, risk assessment, and implementation activities to ensure successful delivery.
  • Conduct system and process testing, analyze performance metrics, and recommend improvements for continuous enhancement.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory changes affecting finance and actuarial processes to ensure compliance.
