Business Analyst
Business Analyst | Contract | Inside IR35
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to aid in an organisational review and improvement project within a public sector environment.
In this role, you will:
- Assess departmental performance
- Review existing ways of working
- Translate findings into clear documentation, recommendations, and practical improvement options
- Present actionable solutions to senior stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct departmental and operational performance assessments
- Develop process maps (as-is and to-be)
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements gathering sessions
- Perform data analysis, benchmarking, and root cause analysis
- Draft clear documentation, recommendations, and actionable improvement plans
- Engage with senior stakeholders to prioritise and communicate insights
- Provide expertise in public sector, policing, or local government environments (preferred but not mandatory)

Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated Business Analysis expertise in change, transformation, or service improvement
- Proven experience in performance assessment of departments or operations
- Proficiency in process mapping (as-is and to-be)
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement including interviews and workshops
- Adept at requirements gathering
- Experience with data analysis, benchmarking, and root cause analysis
- Strong ability to produce well-structured documentation, recommendations, and practical solutions
- Experience working effectively with senior decision-makers
- Experience in public sector, policing, or regulated environments is advantageous

- Rate: £380 per day
