CMC Markets Hiring: Senior Business Analyst

CMC Markets are hiring a Senior Business Analyst on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) to join the team.

About the Role

As the Senior Business Analyst, you will have strong business analysis and technical experience. The role will require you to liaise with business and technical teams to develop requirements for strategic programmes of work.

There is a strong emphasis on product and trading changes, and you will be required to provide detailed analysis and documentation of requirements, resulting in a pipeline of new user stories for development teams.

Once features are in development, you will help manage the development life cycle. This involves:

  • Monitoring progress of the development team
  • Tracking story status
  • Maintaining project/iteration plans
  • Providing clear visibility on project status (including reporting and communicating outside of the team)

As new features are completed by the developers, you will carry out testing to ensure the output satisfactorily meets the original requirements before being handed over to business teams.

In this role, you will occasionally assist the support and customer-facing teams to investigate and resolve live issues.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Financial background is essential.
  • Lifecycle knowledge of financial products such as Equities, Futures, Forex, Fixed Income, Crypto is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Spread betting and/or CFD trading is desirable.
  • The role will focus heavily on the product and trading impacts of new offerings, so experience of end-to-end trading workflows is highly desirable, including execution and settlement.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst embedded in a technology team.
  • Proven experience of applying Agile software development methodologies is highly desirable.
  • General exposure to working on Finance Trading platforms is a distinct advantage.
  • Good working knowledge of the following software is desirable: Confluence, Jira, Miro.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are required along with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, taking ownership of tasks large and small.
