About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst to join a dynamic National Security team based in Gloucester. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to national safety and security through the delivery of advanced technological solutions. The successful candidate will be instrumental in bridging the gap between complex business requirements and technical implementation, supporting projects that leverage cutting-edge innovations such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise and business acumen, as you will collaborate closely with stakeholders, engineering teams, and customers to gather requirements, analyze processes, and define system options. Your work will directly impact high-stakes programmes that safeguard national interests, providing a rewarding environment for professionals passionate about making a difference through technology.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Business Analysis, Systems Engineering, or a similar technical role within secure or regulated environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and modern delivery methodologies such as Agile.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, and data modeling techniques.
  • Knowledge of AI, Generative AI (GenAI), and their applications in secure settings.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Stakeholder management expertise and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable skills include experience in the National Security, Defence, or Government sectors, familiarity with cloud technologies, cyber security, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering, and experience supporting large-scale technical transformation programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document detailed business and technical requirements to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Conduct comprehensive process mapping, data analysis, and requirements management activities to optimize workflows.
  • Define and evaluate various system options, supporting engineering and delivery teams in selecting the most effective solutions.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their business needs and translate these into clear, actionable technical specifications.
  • Produce high-quality documentation, including user requirements, process models, and technical specifications.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate AI and automation technologies within highly regulated environments, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences, ensuring stakeholder understanding and buy-in.
  • Support the end-to-end delivery of solutions, from initial requirements through to implementation and post-deployment support.
