Senior Business Analyst – Capital Markets

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Location: London (Hybrid)

Salary: Competitive / Market Rate

  • MUST HAVE Business Analyst Experience
  • MUST HAVE Capital Markets Experience

This is a pure Business Analyst role with no Project Management experience required.


The Opportunity

We're partnering with a leading financial brokerage firm that is undertaking a significant business transformation programme. As part of this journey, we're looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a strong Capital Markets background to help drive strategic change across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile transformation initiatives, partnering with senior stakeholders across the business and technology functions to deliver lasting operational and process improvements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and the PMO to gather, analyse, and document business requirements across multiple transformation projects.
  • Translate business needs into practical, scalable solutions that align with business objectives and best practice.
  • Lead workshops and stakeholder meetings to define requirements and build consensus.
  • Conduct gap analysis and map current ("As-Is") and future ("To-Be") business processes.
  • Support the development of business cases for strategic initiatives.
  • Assess the impact of process, system, and organisational changes, identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities.
  • Produce high-quality business analysis documentation, including requirements, process maps, user stories, and functional specifications.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure a seamless transition from analysis through to delivery.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, challenging existing processes and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

About You

You'll be an experienced Business Analyst who enjoys solving complex business problems and influencing change within fast-paced Capital Markets environments.

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 8 years' experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Proven experience working within Capital Markets (essential).
  • Experience gained within a brokerage, investment bank, trading firm, or other front-office financial services organisation.
  • Strong experience delivering business and technology change initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leaders.
  • Experience working across Agile, Waterfall, and/or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of cloud technologies including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

Desirable

  • Experience designing operational and technology processes within Financial Services.
  • Knowledge of trading platforms and trading technology.
  • Experience using JIRA, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools.
  • Degree educated or equivalent professional experience.
