Job Description
As part of the EU Equities Technology team, an opportunity exists for a technically minded individual with proven Equities experience to join our front office technology team.
The successful candidate will be involved in numerous business-prioritised initiatives, often working across different implementation teams to deliver client-driven requirements and strategic projects for Equities and Technology management
The successful candidate is highly likely to have worked as a Business Analyst in an Equity Technology division for a meaningful part of their career to date and will have experienced multiple business areas within Equities.
Daily interaction with the trading, middle office, and other support teams will be required as well as technology colleagues within and around Equities Technology. A clear, accurate, and thoughtful communication style as well as mindset is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with various trading desks, technology colleagues and support functions to understand, clarify and document accurate and concise business requirements.
- Quickly understand key risks and constraints impacting new requirements and take steps to address these
- Be the point of contact for technical teams and business alike – refining and adapting as required
- Gain a deep understanding of the Jefferies’ specific flows and processes – and be able to explain these to multiple stakeholders at all levels of seniority
- Tracking issues and concerns, and regular reporting to senior management
- Liaising with test teams to conduct effective system and UAT testing, on occasions getting involved in the testing to expedite the most critical initiatives.

Qualifications/ Experience
- Knowledge and experience in Off-exchange Equity-related products: Stock Loan/Stock Lending, Equity Swaps, Convertible Bonds as well as over the counter derivatives.
- An understanding of market structures, venues and the differences between venues
- Familiarity with the allocation process, different methods, tools, requirements and the pitfalls
- Awareness of the regulatory constraints under which we operate – e.g. MiFID II, Brexit, Surveillance etc…
- Experience with FIX protocol and message types
- Basic database query (SQL) experience
- Experience with Excel VBA/Bloomberg API an advantage
Additional Skills:
- Excellent communication skills – this is a front office and client facing role
- Must be able to perform well under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
- Able to take different communication styles and elicit the key requirements into business and technical requirement documents.
- Proven experience working on several initiatives simultaneously
- A natural problem solver with good diagnostics skills
- A committed team player, experience working with remote teams an advantage
- Strong desire to learn and apply learnt knowledge / skills
- Service-oriented
- Familiarity with software PM tools such as JIRA
