Job Overview
Commodities & Energy Brokerage is undergoing a technology landscape transformation. A significant project is underway to remove their Valuations and PnL portfolio from their current ETRM and transfer the data to a new, bespoke ETRM. This new system will facilitate the trades of Commodity & Energy Derivatives (LNG, Coal, Freight, Oil).
Responsibilities
As a Business Analyst, you will:
- Work with both front office and middle office users, with direct desk access on the trading floor.
- Gain exposure across the end-to-end trade lifecycle for physical LNG, Coal & Freight.
- Perform extensive hands-on work in the current ETRM.
- Understand the Energy & Commodities deal lifecycle and the data needed from both front and middle office.
- Develop extensive system and app knowledge of the different trades.
- Engage proactively with users and work collaboratively.
- Create structured documentation (e.g. backlogs of user stories).
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals.

ETRM-Specific Tasks
- Own the configuration and customization of the firm's ETRM.
- Define product templates and troubleshoot issues.
- Gather requirements by working with Front Office and Risk teams.
- Conduct functional, regression, system, and integration testing to ensure solutions meet requirements.

Requirements
- Experience: 5 years’ experience as an IT Business Analyst focused on ETRM systems.
- Industry Knowledge: Commodities / Energy Trading experience (preferably including physical LNG, Coal, Freight or Oil).
- Technical Skills: Extensive experience working with an ETRM application.
- Business Knowledge: Front / middle office knowledge; pricing and valuation (P&L, risk exposure, etc.).
