The successful candidate will work closely with operational, asset management, and technology stakeholders to analyse business processes, gather and document requirements, and support the implementation of GIS-enabled solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of ESRI technologies, geospatial data, and business analysis best practices to drive operational efficiency and maximise the value of GIS investments.

  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder engagement sessions to understand business needs.
  • Conduct process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessments across GIS-related business functions.
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, and delivery documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with GIS specialists, architects, developers, project managers, and data teams to support solution design and implementation.
  • Support the enhancement and deployment of ESRI-based GIS solutions.
  • Ensure geospatial and business data requirements are accurately captured and maintained.
  • Support testing activities, including test scenario creation, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, and execution.
  • Assist with change management activities and stakeholder adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of business processes and GIS capabilities.
  • Produce high-quality reporting and communicate progress, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and project leader.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
