Business Analyst

Technical Business Analyst | Technology Transformation Programme

This is a high-impact Technical Business Analyst / Systems Analyst role at the centre of a major technology transformation programme, modernising core platforms, data, and integration capabilities across the organisation.

Working closely with the CTO, Delivery Manager, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in delivering a large-scale migration from legacy on-premise systems to a modern cloud-based architecture, alongside the development of new platform capabilities, APIs, and event-driven services.

This role suits someone who is confident operating in Agile delivery environments, with a strong command of user story lifecycle management and the ability to work closely with technical teams without needing to be deeply hands-on technically. You’ll need to be comfortable understanding system behaviour, asking the right questions, and translating complex needs into clear, structured, and actionable requirements.

You’ll operate across onshore and offshore delivery teams, ensuring clarity and consistency in a complex, distributed engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis and documentation of business and technical requirements across multiple workstreams within a large-scale transformation programme
  • Write, refine, and manage high-quality user stories, including clear acceptance criteria and traceability to business outcomes
  • Work closely with engineering and architecture teams to define system behaviour, functional requirements, and integration points
  • Support Agile delivery ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and ongoing sprint support to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguity
  • Map and analyse end-to-end system flows across legacy and target-state cloud platforms
  • Support data analysis and migration activities, including data mapping, transformation rules, validation, and reconciliation
  • Collaborate on API and integration design, including cross-system dependencies and event-driven architecture components
  • Translate complex business needs into clear technical specifications suitable for engineering delivery
  • Support solution design discussions, ensuring requirements are practical, scalable, and aligned with architectural direction (including Azure-based services and event bus architecture)
  • Work across offshore and onshore teams, ensuring consistent understanding across distributed squads
  • Support SIT and UAT phases, ensuring full traceability from requirements through to testing outcomes
  • Identify and manage dependencies, risks, assumptions, and data issues across integrated systems
  • Contribute to cutover and migration planning activities to support a smooth transition to the target state
  • Engage with third-party vendors and suppliers to ensure alignment on integrated components

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
