Business Analyst – Guardian Suite Deployment (Remote & Travel-Based)

The Control Room Solutions team provides the backbone for emergency response in the UK & Europe. Our Guardian Suite application powers critical communication and workflows for Police, Fire & Rescue, and other emergency services.

Job Description
This remote-based role (with 25–50% travel) is within the Guardian Deployment Team. As the Business Analyst for Emergency Services Control Rooms, your primary responsibility is to facilitate the deployment of Motorola Solutions’ Control Room Solution (Guardian Suite) to strategic customers.
Key Accountability
- Establish a direct operational relationship with project and operational personnel across assigned Police, Fire & Rescue, or other Emergency Services agencies.
- Drive business benefit realisation through clear documentation, stakeholder engagement, and workflow optimisation.
- Ensure customer satisfaction as the principal Business Analyst for high-impact deployments.
Core Responsibilities
The Business Analyst will:
- Be the operational process subject matter expert for customers.
- Conduct requirement gap analysis (pre-contract and contract change processes).
- Deliver RAG (Red/Amber/Green) status updates on functional requirements for integration/software development teams.
- Act as the primary liaison between Engineering/Development teams and customers, tracking software progress.
- Capture and document customer requirements (usage acceptance criteria) for deployment proposals and live services.
- Work with suppliers to align their capabilities with customer needs, identifying gaps and coordinating development roadmaps.
- Perform training needs analyses for customers, delivering train-the-trainer courses and user training support.
- Support test events (managed by Software Test Engineers) and defect management workflows.
- Provide on-site support during critical events (e.g., Guardian Go Lives, software upgrades, or system outages).
- Create/update user stories and acceptance criteria for Engineering/Development teams and suppliers.
- Collaborate with Service Management on software defect incidents/problem resolution in live service.
- Assist Programme Managers and Technical Design Authorities in developing pre-sales proposals and deployment documentation for new Motorola Solutions solutions.

Key Competencies
Success in this role requires: ✅ Deep operational understanding of Guardian Suite and Control Room processes within complex software deployments. ✅ Exemplary relationship management—building trust with:
- Deployment / Service teams
- Customers (project & operational)
- Key suppliers (including 3rd-party integration partners) ✅ Excellent communication—translating technical details into actionable, operational guidance for customers, teams, and suppliers. ✅ Agile & collaborative experience—balancing customer needs and technical delivery to deliver minimal re-engineering or workarounds. ✅ Multi-agency experience—working across UK Bluelight organizations (Police, Fire, Rescue) in large-scale software deployments. ✅ Commercial awareness—recognising the impact of operational issues on customer relationships and broader business outcomes. ✅ Leadership in change management—ensuring customers, suppliers, and colleagues understand new features and workflow changes effectively.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in call-taker and dispatch operations within UK Emergency Services (Police, Fire & Rescue).
- Strong background in managing complex software deployments for major customers.
- Specific experience with software deployments in UK Control Room environments (Police/Fire agencies).
- Proven ability in managing requirements—balancing stakeholder needs with technical constraints.
- Self-motivation for remote work and comfort collaborating with virtual teams.
- Demonstrable management experience in a delivery-focused environment.
- Exceptional verbal & written communication—clarity with technical & non-technical audiences.
- Technical fluency to articulate software deployment challenges & solutions.
- Eligibility for NPPV3 security clearance—UK residency for minimum 5 years.

Desirable
- Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent).
- 2+ years of Business Analysis experience within a large technology organisation.
- Certification or progression toward project management qualifications.
