Business Analyst
Senior Business Analyst – Public Sector & Utilities (Ireland)

Job Description
Responsible for proactively arranging and conducting meetings, workshops, and presentations for a variety of audiences, demonstrating consistently high-quality communication, elicitation, and persuasive skills. This role requires making informed decisions, documenting processes, improving efficiency, and collaborating across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse alternative solutions and provide recommendations based on insights.
- Document and map complex business processes and solutions using standard procedures, methods, and tools.
- Identify areas for improvement, specify requirements, and implement recommendations for increasing process effectiveness.
- Conduct root cause analysis of problems and work closely with business users to ensure needs are translated into solution designs and system specifications.
- Produce detailed Business Requirement Specification (BRS) documents and liaise with all stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and signed off prior to development commencement.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audiences (including senior management) throughout the project lifecycle to gain commitment and minimise resistance to change.
- Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) across all testing phases to ensure requirements are delivered and ready for release.
- Collaborate with IT & Business teams during production releases to ensure a smooth transition to new processes.

Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a Business Analyst role, preferably in a public sector or utility environment.
- Strong documentation skills, particularly in writing detailed requirements specification documents (BRS) for development and testing teams.
- Experience working on both large-scale and smaller projects, including defining and designing business solutions.
- Good project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and working towards tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies (experience in both preferred).
Note: *This role is only open to candidates based in Northern Ireland.
