Business Analyst
Senior Business Analyst (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)
CMC Markets is hiring for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
About the Role
As the Senior Business Analyst, you will leverage your strong business analysis and technical expertise to:
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to define requirements for strategic product and trading changes.
- Ensure detailed analysis and documentation of requirements, producing a pipeline of new user stories for development teams.
- Play a key role in managing the development lifecycle, including:
- Tracking story status and maintaining project/iteration plans.
- Providing clear visibility on project status through reporting and communication.
- Conducting testing to confirm if completed features meet original requirements.
- Occasionally assist support and customer-facing teams by investigating and resolving live issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic business analysis for product and trading programs.
- Develop and maintain requirements for new trading workflows, product changes, and refinements.
- Oversee the Agile development process, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical implementation.
- Agile testing and validation of delivered features.
- Stakeholder liaison and cross-team coordination.
- Kubernetes, particularly with services; experience with financial markets and trading infrastructure.

Key Skills & Experience
Essential
- Financial sector experience is essential (e.g., equities, futures, Forex, fixed income, crypto).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst embedded in a technology team.
- Agile development methodologies experience desirable.
Desirable
- Insight into trading workflows, including execution and settlement processes.
- Familiarity with spread betting/CFD trading.
- Prior exposure working on finance trading platforms.
- Technical/financial platforms Kubernetes understanding beneficial.
Technical Skills
A preference for proficiency in:
- Confluence (requirements documentation)
- Jira (agile project management)
- Miro (collaboration)
