Business Analyst – Newcastle, Hybrid Role
📍 Location: Newcastle

📍 Hybrid Working Requirement: This role will require 3 days per week on-site at our Newcastle, Cobalt Business Park office.

📋 Key Responsibilities
Business Discovery & Strategy
- Support discovery activities to define problems, explore solutions, and evaluate feasibility, risks, and dependencies.
- Apply BA tools & techniques to assess processes and propose tailored business & technology solutions.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with business & technology stakeholders to:
- Identify and validate functional and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborate on assessments, business impact analyses, and operational readiness.
Solution Design & Artefact Creation
- Produce clear, accurate artefacts, including:
- Functional designs
- Process flows
- Sequence diagrams
- Business rules
- Product backlog items
Data & Change Management
- Analyze business & operational data to validate assumptions, support insights, and refine delivery strategies.
- Lead communication & training materials to support change adoption.
Technology & Agile Engagement
- Partner with cross-functional teams through the Software Development Lifecycle, including:
- Product, UX/UI, developers, testers, DevOps, and live services.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives).
Risk & AI Integration
- Identify escalate risks, constraints, and dependencies proactively.
- Develop a working understanding of technical elements, including:
- APIs
- Databases
- System integration
- Advocate for AI-enabled solutions to enhance client outcomes.
🔍 Required Skills & Experience
Core Business Analysis Capabilities
- Strong foundational skills in:
- Requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, validation, and management across the entire lifecycle.
- Ability to translate business problems into clear, structured, actionable requirements.
- Experience producing authored, including:
- User stories
- Functional & non-functional requirements
- Process flows
- Business rules & data requirements
- Working knowledge of structured solution design using UML, BPMN, process modelling, and impact assessments.
- Proficiency in analyzing business & operational data to:
- Validate requirements
- Identify trends
- Highlight risks & data quality issues
- Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders to build alignment and manage expectations.

Specialist & AI Extended Expertise
- Background in digital or technology-enabled initiatives, preferably incomplex environments (e.g., Public Sector).
- Understanding of:
- System integration concepts, APIs, and data flows.
- Enterprise platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Salesforce).
- UX principles and wireframing (e.g., Figma, Balsamiq).
- Curiosity about emerging technologies, notably GenAI and its role in solution optimisation.
- Exposure to benefits realisation and transitioning live services.
- Competence in improving delivery efficiency through AI in everyday processes.
