The Role

The Business Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring that the firm’s technology and process solutions are aligned with the operational and strategic needs of the legal teams and business services functions. This role is responsible for analysing business requirements, mapping processes, and supporting the delivery of technology initiatives and change that enhance efficiency, service quality, and colleague experience across the firm.

Acting as a trusted advisor between IT and the wider business, the Business Analyst ensures that new solutions, system enhancements, and change initiatives are informed by a deep understanding of colleague needs and legal workflows. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and an ability to translate complex requirements into actionable recommendations.

The Business Analyst is positioned to maintain close collaboration with colleagues, gather meaningful insights, and support technology adoption in a flexible and engaging way.

Main Responsibilities

  • Working closely with legal and business teams to understand challenges and identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and ways of working.
  • Gathering and documenting business requirements and translating stakeholder needs into practical technology solutions.
  • Analysing and redesigning workflows to improve efficiency, user experience, and service delivery.
  • Supporting technology and change initiatives throughout the project lifecycle, from discovery through to implementation.
  • Facilitating workshops, stakeholder meetings, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Building strong relationships across the firm and acting as a key link between business and technology teams.
  • Using data and insight to identify trends, measure outcomes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Helping maximise the value of key legal technology platforms, including iManage, Elite 3E, document automation, and time recording systems.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, including process maps, business requirements, and analysis artefacts.
  • Supporting the evaluation and implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, including large language models (LLMs), generative AI, machine learning concepts, and practical AI delivery mythologies.
  • Identifying opportunities for AI adoption and assessing the associate risks and operational impacts, ensuring solutions align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and evolving market expectations.
  • Supporting change management and user adoption activities by embedding new technologies into business processes, delivering training, and maintaining stakeholder engagement throughout the technology lifecycle.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
