Business Analyst

Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £53,761

This role is available full-time for 37 hours per week or part-time with a minimum coverage of 30 hours. This role is predominantly based in the office, with the opportunity to work from home up to twice a month. Flexible working patterns and compressed working requests are welcome.

Do you love solving complex problems and turning them into smart, streamlined solutions? Are you passionate about making technology work better, faster, and more intuitively?

You’ll be a forward-thinking, solution-oriented professional who thrives at the intersection of engineering, technology, and organisational change. In this role, you’ll play a key part in contextualising, analysing, and designing change across HMGCC and spanning a wide range of business domains and stakeholders.

Every day will bring new challenges and exciting opportunities to make a real impact. You'll transition seamlessly between shaping strategic change and supporting the creation and implementation of the products, services and technology. Whether it's untangling system inefficiencies, aligning strategic capabilities with business needs, or helping shape cutting-edge tech, your work will directly influence how we design, build, and deliver products. You'll work closely with engineers, enterprise architects, product teams and senior leaders, bringing together different perspectives to solve complex challenges that span technology, operations and business strategy.

You’ll be in a diverse, fast-paced, collaborative environment where analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and a passion for innovation are valued.

More about you

To apply for this role, you will already have:

  • Experience working in a role that required analytical thinking, problem solving and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills, including requirements validation, root cause analysis, use case development, and process modelling.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

It would be beneficial if you also have one of the following (although these are not essential):

  • Experience in analysing and guiding strategic business change, translating organisational strategy into actionable insights with value realisation.
  • Experience contributing to projects, business improvement initiatives or organisational change activities.
  • An understanding of engineering industry standards and best practices.

Your personal skills

You will be someone who:

  • Has a keen desire to learn continuously and grow both your technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborates naturally with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, valuing shared knowledge and joint success, helping teams to move forward with confidence.
  • Is committed to excellence, taking ownership to see projects through to a high standard.
  • Is curious and enjoys creative problem-solving, understands complex problems, and shapes innovative, practical solutions.
  • Can prioritise and manage your workload effectively, adapting to changing needs with flexibility and focus.
  • Works closely with stakeholders to understand their goals, build relationships, clarify expectations, and ensure successful outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
