About the Role

About Us

As an external recruitment partner, we present an opportunity with our client, a leading UK retailer, to secure a pivotal Project Manager appointment. This organization drives competitive advantage through a balanced mix of store excellence, digital evolution, and a sustainability creed that resonates with modern shoppers across the UK and international markets.

Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager to coordinate a cross-functional program aimed at elevating retail performance and execution. The role engages with senior stakeholders to translate strategic aims into actionable delivery plans, maintains governance artifacts, and tracks value realization within the London network and accompanying stores. Emphasis is on turning business goals into tangible projects, risk oversight, and stakeholder alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of integrated retail initiatives encompassing store operations optimization, digital tools rollout, and process improvements that impact customer experience.
  • Define scope, milestones, and delivery roadmaps in alignment with enterprise architecture and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, IT, and commercial to ensure coherent execution across the store network.
  • Assess readiness across stores, distribution centres, and store technology platforms, ensuring scalable and resilient implementation.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations at executive and regional levels, facilitating clear communication and timely decision making.
  • Ensure solutions meet performance, security, and compliance standards, with attention to identity, device posture, and network segmentation.
  • Develop comprehensive project documentation, including risk registers, delivery plans, architecture alignment, and governance artifacts.
  • Monitor risks and dependencies, implementing mitigation plans and escalation procedures where needed.
  • Support change management efforts and adoption activities to prepare staff and store teams for new capabilities.
  • Partner with service management to secure operational readiness, handover processes, and support models.
  • Pursue continuous improvement across processes, tools, and user experience in remote or store-based initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
