Business Analyst - Service Designer
Business Analyst / Service Designer (Data & Insight) – 28 Hours Per Week (3 Year Fixed Term Contract)
This role will transform how we use data and insight across the diocese. It sits at the heart of how we understand our parishes and how we create clearer, more effective support.
About the Role
The Business Analyst / Service Designer will integrate data, systems, and processes to make information accurate, accessible, and useful. You’ll help shift our organisation from managing information to utilising it effectively—enabling clearer insights, better decision-making, and more responsive support.
By working across teams, you’ll connect data from different systems, simplify workflows, and design practical solutions. You’ll also identify opportunities to leverage new tools and technologies, fostering a joined-up and efficient way of working.
This role combines both operational delivery and strategic influence—using insights to shape service design, advise on priorities, and develop a consistent, data-driven approach across the organisation. The impact will be felt across all levels:
- Fewer duplications
- Clearer communications
- Support that aligns with real needs

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
