About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our team and lead early-stage exploration, hypothesis development, and rapid analytical prototyping to inform strategic business decisions within PlayStation’s Services organization. This role is pivotal in identifying high-impact opportunities and transforming ambiguous business problems into structured analytical approaches. Sitting at the intersection of business, analytics, and data science, the Senior Business Analyst collaborates closely with leadership, analytics partners, product managers, and data scientists to ensure that insights are actionable and aligned with business objectives. The role emphasizes rapid experimentation and iterative analysis to accelerate decision-making processes, optimize subscriber engagement, and enhance the overall performance of PlayStation Plus, a key revenue and innovation driver for Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or related domains
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience addressing ambiguous business challenges
  • Proficiency in analytical tools such as SQL, Python, R, or similar
  • Experience conducting exploratory analysis, hypothesis development, and data storytelling
  • Demonstrated willingness or ability to leverage AI-enabled tools (e.g., generative or agentic AI) to enhance workflows
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and translating business needs into analytical solutions

Responsibilities

  • Lead early-stage exploration of business problems, identifying high-impact opportunities through data analysis and stakeholder engagement
  • Develop clear hypotheses and analytical approaches to guide experimentation and modeling efforts
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into structured problem statements for analysis
  • Conduct rapid analyses and build lightweight prototypes to evaluate feasibility and potential impact
  • Leverage existing data frameworks to generate directional insights that inform strategic decisions
  • Iterate quickly to refine hypotheses and focus areas, supporting continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to understand strategic priorities and incorporate feedback into analyses
  • Partner with Data Scientists and Product Managers to transition validated insights into structured experimentation and modeling
  • Develop reusable analytical frameworks and templates to streamline early-stage analytics work
  • Contribute to establishing scalable, repeatable workflows and AI-enabled processes to support commercial decision-making
