Business Analyst (Finance ERP Transformation) – Insight Global
Location: United Kingdom / Canada (Remote/London focus) Partner Organisation: Tier 1 bank
Insight Global is collaborating with a leading Tier 1 bank to deliver a Finance ERP transformation programme across the United Kingdom and Canada. This initiative focuses on deploying a next-generation accounting sub-ledger for Wealth Management, with expanded functionalities across General Ledger (GL), Payments, Reconciliation, and Reporting.
About the Role
We are seeking a Business Analyst to bridge Finance and Technology teams, translating complex finance requirements into structured technical specifications for the ERP delivery team. This role involves close collaboration with Finance stakeholders, ERP configuration specialists, and technical teams to ensure seamless delivery of the next-generation accounting system.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis & Documentation
- Work directly with Finance stakeholders to gather, document, and structure ERP requirements across:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Payments
- Reconciliation
- Reporting
- Facilitate workshops and sign-off sessions with Finance subject matter experts (SMEs), translating outputs into clear functional and technical specifications.
- Maintain requirements traceability to align Finance needs with ERP configuration decisions.
- Produce high-quality documentation, including:
- Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
- User stories
- Process flows
- Functional specifications throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Data Validation & Testing Support
- Validate trading and investment data using Excel and SQL, ensuring:
- Accuracy
- Completeness
- Correct field attribution
- Cross-system consistency
- Support the creation of:
- Test scenarios
- Test scripts
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) acceptance criteria
- Participate in:
- QA/UAT execution
- Defect triage
- Change request management
- Assist in:
- Data migration
- Mapping and cleansing
- Reconciliation and validation
Stakeholder Engagement & Programme Coordination
- Act as the IT Business Analyst liaison between:
- Finance (requirements owners)
- Technical delivery teams
- ERP configuration specialists
- Clearly communicate:
- Requirements
- Design decisions
- Risks
- Project status (internal/across Finance/IT)
- Develop end-user documentation and training materials to support change adoption.
- Support the transitional phase of the UK sub-ledger build-out, focusing on progress from read-only access to full implementation.
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven expertise as a Business Analyst in financial product analysis, including:
- Loans
- Deposits
- Derivatives
- Securities
- Investments
- Mortgages
- Insurance
- Ability to define and validate accounting event rules, encompassing:
- Accruals
- Impairments
- Fair-value adjustments
- Revenue recognition
- Hands-on end-to-end accounting experience, from sub-ledger to General Ledger, and downstream reporting solutions (examples: Aptitude or equivalent).
- ERP configuration experience with:
- SAP FPSL
- Oracle AHCS
- Similar Finance ERP platforms
- Strong ability to collaborate with technical teams working on:
- ABAP
- CDS (Core Data Services)
- BTP (Business Technology Platform)
- Oracle integration tooling
- Experience supporting ERP testing cycles:
- Writing test scripts
- Participating in UAT
- Managing defects and change requests
- Proficiency in:
- Excel (data analysis, validation, reconciliation)
- SQL (data integrity checks, financial queries)
