Business Analyst / Test Manager – Change & Technology
6-month contract | Leeds (1 day a week)
We’re working with a well-known construction business to find a Business Analyst who can also own testing end-to-end. You’ll be the single point of accountability for both roles, across projects ranging from straightforward to genuinely complex.
What you’ll be doing
Business Analysis
- Leading on business problem definition
- Mapping current and future-state processes (BPMN, swimlane diagrams)
- Eliciting, documenting, and validating requirements through to formal sign-off and traceability
- Managing scope, assumptions, and change control
- Contributing to business cases, including options, costs, risks, and benefits

Testing
- Owning test strategy and test plans for projects
- Defining scope, environments, entry/exit criteria, and timelines
- Running test kick-offs and managing defects through to closure
- Coordinating testing across internal teams and third-party suppliers, including holding suppliers to account on quality and coverage
Additional Responsibilities
- Working across Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery, adapting your approach as required
- Taking on light project management for smaller pieces of work

What you’ll need
- Proven end-to-end Business Analyst experience on large, complex projects or programmes
- Demonstrable ownership of test strategy, planning, and execution – not just BA work with some testing bolted on
- Strong process modelling experience (BPMN/swimlane, As-Is/To-Be)
- Experience managing third-party suppliers through the full delivery lifecycle
- Confidence in working across multiple delivery methodologies
- BCS (ISEB) Diploma in Business Analysis (essential)
- IIBA certification and/or PRINCE2 (desirable)
