Business Analyst

Location: London Salary Range: £60,000 Type: Permanent / Hybrid

Overview

The Business Analyst will provide end-to-end support across an Enablement Operating Model, working collaboratively across disciplines including Underwriting, Operations, Engineering, UX Design, and Process. The role will contribute throughout the development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through to testing, delivery, and change management, ensuring business needs are translated into high-quality, value-driven outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of business needs and platform capabilities.
  • Conduct gap analysis to identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement, proposing practical and value-adding solutions.
  • Produce clear user stories and acceptance criteria that accurately reflect business requirements, supporting the delivery of high-quality features.
  • Contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and prioritisation activities to maximise business value.
  • Actively support the development lifecycle by participating in daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, offering insights to improve delivery and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality documentation, including business requirement documents, functional specifications, and process maps.
  • Facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, and training sessions to support stakeholder engagement, understanding, and adoption of new solutions.

Functional Capabilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering actionable insights and measurable business outcomes.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and strong personal drive.
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional teams in a digital, agile, or flexible environment.
  • Ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences.

Technical Capabilities

  • Business-level proficiency in English is essential.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or other European languages (e.g., French, Dutch, or German) is highly advantageous.
  • 2–3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or in a comparable role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience within the insurance sector is a strong advantage.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint), with experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • Experience incorporating AI tools into day-to-day workflows.
