Business Analyst

Department: IT

Reports to: Associate Director of IT and Change

Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 DOE

Location: Can be based at either Reading or Salford (hybrid)

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a hands-on Business Analyst to support Leep’s ongoing transformation into a more efficient, scalable and data informed organisation. Working closely with the Associate Director of IT and Change, project teams, business stakeholders and external partners, you will translate business needs into clear requirements and help deliver key initiatives aligned to Leep’s Medium Term Plan (MTP).

This is a practical, outcome-focused role where you will analyse current processes, identify inefficiencies, support improved ways of working and help move the business away from fragmented, manual and spreadsheet driven processes towards more standardised, system led and insight driven operations. Your work will support business growth, improve operational efficiency, reduce delivery risk and help stakeholders adopt change successfully.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of transformation initiatives aligned to the Medium Term Plan (MTP), enabling business growth, efficiency and improved ways of working.
  • Elicit, analyse and document clear business, functional and non functional requirements, translating these into deliverables understood by both business and technical teams.
  • Analyse current as is processes, identify inefficiencies, risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities, and support the design of improved to be processes aligned to business and regulatory needs.
  • Support the move from manual, spreadsheet driven processes to system led workflows, helping to reduce delivery risk and improve operational performance.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to drive alignment, clarity and engagement across business areas.
  • Use analytical and technical skills, including tools such as Python and SQL, to support insight, recommendations, reporting and data informed decision making.
  • Support development of business cases, benefits tracking and performance improvement measures to inform prioritisation and demonstrate value.
  • Produce process maps, user stories and supporting documentation for delivery across ERP, CRM, billing and operational systems.
  • Coordinate and support testing, including UAT, business readiness and training materials to enable successful adoption with minimal disruption.
  • Support acquisition integration through process alignment and data validation, while promoting consistent, structured and outcome focused business analysis practices.

About You

  • Proven experience working as a Business Analyst, delivering process improvement and system change.
  • Strong experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation and structured business analysis practices.
  • Good analytical and technical skills, with the ability to use data to develop insight and support recommendations.
  • Understanding of business analysis frameworks, tools and techniques, with the ability to apply these in a practical, outcome focused way.
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to prioritise work based on value, impact, cost, risk and performance improvement.
  • Experience working in complex or regulated environments is advantageous.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence and translate between business and technical audiences.
  • Ability to work cross functionally and support delivery of change across multiple teams, including system implementations, testing or integrations.
  • Proactive, organised and structured in approach, with a focus on delivering tangible business outcomes.
