This role sits within the Strategy and Engagement department, where two of our core priorities are to understand our parishes well and to continually improve how we work as a support function. Achieving both depends on strong data, alongside systems and processes that are efficient, reliable and accessible.
The Role Focuses On Three Key Areas
- Managing and integrating data across multiple systems, ensuring that information is accurate, up to date and available to those who need it
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reducing complexity, saving time and cost, and making life easier for colleagues, church leaders and partners.
- Improving how we request and use information from parishes, providing greater clarity about purpose and strengthening our ability to offer timely and relevant support.
This role supports our responsibility to steward data well and strengthen the support we provide, enabling parish leaders to pursue the diocesan vision and contribute to agreed outcomes across Derbyshire and beyond.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
