# Rentokil Pest Control – Graduate Pest Control Technician: Surrounding Areas

About the Role

Rentokil is seeking a dedicated Graduate Pest Control Technician to join its team covering five distinct postcodes. As a new starter, you’ll receive full industry-recognised training. Many successful candidates have achieved degrees in:

  • Science-based subjects (BSc)
  • Social sciences
  • Business management

National Learning Pathway

For the next 18 months, you will commit to exploring your chosen geographical area while mastering pest control. Key activities include:

Essential Responsibilities

  • Inspect and assess customer premises for pests, identifying risks quickly and efficiently.
  • Respond to identified pest issues through comprehensive cleaning, treatment, and removal of pest evidence.
  • Advise customers with expertise on preventative maintenance and hygiene best practices.
  • Document visits accurately, ensuring full transparency and professionalism.
  • Development of relationships through exceptional customer service.

Following this foundation, in 12–36 months, you’ll fast-track into one of the following roles depending on your interests and strengths:

  • Sales Surveyor – Technician-level advisory generation
  • Field Biologist – Advancing pest monitoring techniques
  • Service Team Leader – Ultimate management of operational success
  • Key Account Manager – Strategic oversight for enterprise and public-sector clients

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • A minimum 2.2 university degree in:
    • A science, BSc, social science, business management, hospitality or tourism.

Key Attributes

  • Passion for problem-solving and a desire to help people daily.
  • Adaptability to flexible shifts to meet operational demands.
  • Possibly be required to complete a DBS check depending on vacancy details.

Bonus Perks

  • Opportunity to earn more via commission and overtime must agreed.
  • Leads commission – You may qualify for rewards when passing on high-value new business opportunities.

Salary & Benefits

Competitive Package

  • Starts at £27,788 pounds per annum, with bonuses and commissions available.
  • London weighting (if applicable): £3,000 additional p.a.
  • Expected Take Home (OTE): £35,000 annually.
