Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Architect to support a major strategic programme, helping define business capabilities, operating models, governance frameworks, and organisational change initiatives.
This role will focus on aligning business objectives with operational outcomes through capability development, process optimisation, organisational design, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will work with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions to drive business improvement and long-term capability growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Architecture
- Develop and maintain business architecture frameworks, standards, and principles.
- Define and manage enterprise-level business capability models.
- Create current-state, target-state, and transition-state business architectures.
- Ensure alignment between strategic objectives and programme delivery.
Operating Model Design
- Design and assess future operating models.
- Analyse governance structures and delivery frameworks.
- Identify capability gaps, overlaps, and opportunities for optimisation.
- Support organisational change and modernisation initiatives.
Capability & Process Improvement
- Develop capability maps and maturity assessments.
- Analyse dependencies across people, process, information, and technology.
- Produce value stream maps and end-to-end process models.
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and service enhancement.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders and programme teams.
- Present recommendations and architectural outputs to governance forums.
- Work closely with business, operational, and technology teams to support strategic initiatives.
Strategic Analysis
- Support business case development and investment decisions.
- Assess organisational impacts of emerging technologies and new operating approaches.
- Contribute to benefits realisation activities and change impact assessments.
- Support the creation of transformation and capability roadmaps.
Essential Experience
- Extensive Business Architecture experience within complex enterprise or highly regulated environments.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale business change and transformation programmes.
- Strong experience developing:
- Business Capability Models
- Target Operating Models (TOM)
- Transformation Roadmaps
- Governance Frameworks
- Organisational Design Artefacts
- Experience facilitating senior stakeholder workshops and decision-making forums.
- Strong understanding of business capability development, process architecture, and operating model design.
- Experience working across large programmes and portfolios.
