FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Programme Design Governance Lead (Business Architect) to work for our client within the consumer healthcare sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.
Our client is undergoing a large-scale, business-led and technology-enabled enterprise transformation, underpinned by S/4HANA, and is currently standing up the governance and design structures needed to deliver at pace. They are seeking an experienced, business-architecture-minded delivery professional to orchestrate design governance across the programme — preparing and facilitating design authority forums, supporting the establishment of a new Enterprise Design Authority (EDA), and driving cross-programme alignment so that design decisions are well-prepared, coherent and ready for governance. This is a hands-on orchestration role for someone who brings structure to ambiguity, manages interdependencies, and drives decisions to closure at pace.
Responsibilities
Orchestrate design governance forums end to end (Enterprise, Business and Technical Design Authorities and working groups) - including preparation, facilitation, minutes and action tracking Support the establishment and mobilisation of the Enterprise Design Authority, defining its terms of reference, membership, decision rights, submission standards, operating cadence and escalation pathways Quality-assure pre-read packs and submissions, and maintain a decision register capturing approvals, conditions and traceability Drive cross-programme design working groups to identify and resolve interdependencies and ensure design decisions are aligned and ready for governance Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to promote consistency, standardisation and simplification across business and technology design Operate at pace in an ambiguous, evolving environment, proactively driving actions through to completion

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
