We are seeking a Business Architect & Org Design Lead (Associate Director level — broadly equivalent to a Manager in a management consultancy) to lead complex client engagements and grow the Strategy+ offer in AECOM Advisory. This senior consulting delivery role combines:
- Strategic execution (operating model design, governance, transformation, and performance improvement work)
- Client-facing advisory (working with infrastructure, public sector, and regulated-industry clients)
- Senior stakeholder management
- Team leadership and targeted business development

Strategy+ helps organisations solve complex system-level challenges by turning strategy into actionable change. Our focus areas include:
- Operating model design
- Governance architecture
- Change & transformation
- Performance improvement (across people, process, data, technology, and delivery)
- Current growth priorities: Operating model design, change management, and performance improvement—especially in Energy, Water, and Defence sectors
Key Responsibilities
Your Impact: Strategic Thinking, Execution, and Team Leadership
You will:
1. Lead High-Impact Client Engagements
- Guide complex consulting engagements or major workstreams from inception through delivery.
- Ensure high-quality outputs, strong project discipline, and clear team accountability.
- Steer cross-functional discussions to align stakeholders on priorities, trade-offs, and execution plans.

2. Deliver Robust Methodologies & Solutions
- Design and apply credible, scalable, and efficient methodologies for:
- Operating model development
- Organisation design
- Governance structures
- Service and operational transformation
- Performance improvement
- Translate complex analyses, data-driven insights, and strategic analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
3. Build Trust & Influence
- Erect strong senior stakeholder relationships and act as a trusted strategic advisor.
- Facilitate destination workshops and town halls to align teams and tackle challenges.
- Keep stakeholders updated through horizon scanning, market intelligence, and emerging client challenges.
4. Drive Team & Commercial Performance
- Manage multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring capability alignment with client needs.
- Connect clients with specialised resources across AECOM for joined-up problem-solving.
- Monitor and mitigate scope, risk, quality, and commercial performance.
5. Foster Business Development & Growth
- Identify follow-on engagement opportunities.
- Support proposals and account management in priority sectors (e.g., Energy, Water, Defence).
- Grow the AS+ reputation and client trust with targeted business development efforts.
6. Guide & Develop Talent
- Coach consultants and senior consultants on:
- Structured client engagement
- Convincing storytelling
- Data interpretation
- Ensure team setup aligns with client needs, career development, and business priorities.

- Defining scope
- Managing risk
- Supporting proposal activity
- Revenue growth strategies ✔ Developed target operating models, capability maps, governance frameworks, and roadmaps. ✔ Apply a pragmatic, pragmatic-business mindset—every solution must deliver tangible results. ✔ Are pioneers in systematic process improvement, improving scalability, efficiency, and long-term capability.

Qualifications: Academics & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
- Postgraduate qualification or professional certification (e.g., PDC, MSc, CIPD*) (preferred).
