We’re seeking a Business Architect & Org Design Lead (Associate Director) to lead complex client engagements and expand AECOM Advisory’s Strategy+ offer. This senior consulting role (equivalent to Manager in a traditional management consultancy) demands strong delivery expertise, execution skill, and a passion for globally impactful change.
You will work with infrastructure, public sector, and regulated-industry clients, transforming their strategies into tangible execution through operating model design, transformation, governance, organisation, and performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Develop end-to-end complex consulting engagements or major workstreams:
- Set vision; define scope; execute rigorous delivery with stakeholder accountability
- Apply scalable, actionable methodologies for:
- Operating model development
- Organisation design
- Governance frameworks
- Business transformation
- Performance-related roadmaps

Transform insights into decision-ready deliverables:
- Articulate complex analysis into precise, values-driven recommendations
- Lead workshops, facilitating cross-functional alignment on trade-offs and implementation.
Hands-on leadership and relationships:
- Build and maintain trust with senior client stakeholders—advising daily with confidence.
- Adopt a forward-looking perspective, spanning horizon scanning, market trends, and emerging client needs.
Lead multi-disciplinary teams and expertise placement:
- Connect clients with targeted AECOM specialists to assemble joined-up, tailored solutions.
- Manage projects proactively, mitigating risk early to uphold quality and commercial standards.
Drive business growth:
- Identify and target follow-on opportunities.
- Strengthen relationships in priority sectors and high-potential clients.
Develop talent:
- Mentor consultants and senior consultants, refined feedback on engagement structuring, analysis, and delivery persuasion.
Shape team capability:
- Align internal resources with client needs, balancing capabilities against business priorities.
Qualifications and Experience
What Sets the Right Candidate Apart
- Senior advisory or consulting background: Track record in operational transformation or strategy execution roles.
- Execution-driven leadership: Proven experience solving ambiguous, high-stakes problems in fast-paced timelines.
- Executive communication: Ability to simplify complexity and craft compelling narratives from data/analysis.
- Stakeholder pairing: Strong history of influencing decisions at senior levels.
Core experience domains:
- Operating model design, capability mapping, governance structures
- Auditable implementation roadmaps
- Operative experience within client budgets and structures.
Mindset and approach:
- Pragmatic and hands-on: Belief in real-world impact over theory.
- Scalable delivery mindset: Adaption of rigorous ways of working deliver efficiency gains.
- Strong self-direction: Thrives in rapidly evolving environments with high demand for integrated output.

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Postgraduate or professional certifications add value.
