Business Architect (SC Cleared)
Location: Suffolk - Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite
Start Day: ASAP
Contract Rate: £540 per day inside IR35
Duration: 6 months initially
Clearance: Must hold active SC Clearance (valid and transferable)
Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Architect (SC Cleared) to support the delivery of business architecture initiatives within a major infrastructure programme. Working closely with senior stakeholders, project teams, and suppliers, you will help define operating models, shape business requirements, develop investment cases, and ensure solutions are aligned to strategic objectives and deliver measurable benefits. You will remain engaged throughout the project lifecycle, supporting solution validation, managing evolving requirements, and driving successful business adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and improve business operating models and processes.
- Lead early-stage project definition, investment cases, and business requirements activities.
- Translate business needs into practical delivery packages, including processes, user stories, and data requirements.
- Work with stakeholders, suppliers, and delivery teams to identify and implement effective solutions.
- Support procurement activities, including RFI, ITT, and supplier evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with governance, regulatory, and programme requirements.
- Manage dependencies, risks, and stakeholder engagement throughout delivery.
- Support operational readiness, transition, and business adoption activities.

Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong Business Architecture, Business Analysis, Process Management, Management Information, or IT Systems experience.
- Proven ability to translate business problems into structured requirements and delivery plans.
- Experience delivering business transformation initiatives that improve operational efficiency.
- Experience developing investment cases for large and complex programmes.
- Knowledge of formal project management methodologies, such as PRINCE2.
- Experience supporting procurement and supplier evaluation processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience working within large-scale infrastructure, construction, engineering, or capital delivery programmes.
- Understanding of regulated environments, including ONR licence conditions and cyber/nuclear security requirements.

Desirable:
- Experience working on major capital projects such as HS2, Thames Tideway, Lower Thames Crossing, or similar.
- Experience working across operational, construction, facilities, infrastructure, networking, or telecommunications teams.
