Business Area Lead

About Us

We’re the world’s leading provider of secure financial messaging services, headquartered in Belgium. We are the way the world moves value—across borders, through cities and overseas. No other organisation can address the scale, precision, pace, and trust required to facilitate this demand, and we’re proud to support the global economy.

We’re unique. Established to revolutionise how the financial community moves value through reliable, safe, and secure processes that earn trust, we constantly evolve in an ever-changing environment while maintaining this trust.

Decades later, our diverse and vibrant community mirrors the complexity and variety of the financial ecosystem. We innovate relentlessly, rigorously test, and implement rapidly. In this interconnected era, our mission is more relevant than ever.

Swift operates in 200+ countries and legal territories, serving a community of over 12,000 banks and financial institutions. This role is unable to offer sponsorship for employment authorisation now or in the future.

About the Role

What to Expect

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and coach Product Owners

    • Set clear product outcomes, decision rights, and ways of working

    • Maintain a prioritised roadmap aligned with Swift’s digital assets strategy, client needs, and regulatory evolution
  • Oversee product governance and performance management

    • Establish OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and KPIs (e.g., adoption, reliability, time-to-integrate, revenue/benefits)
    • Drive quarterly business reviews, manage trade-offs, and escalate risks/decisions through governance forums
    • Ensure proper governance processes are followed across the organisation
  • Align delivery across functions

    • Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Security, Risk, Legal/Compliance, and Operations to guarantee APIs meet non-functional requirements (e.g., resilience, observability, identity/access, data protection)
    • Ensure APIs are regulation-compliant and fit for regulated environments
  • Align with customers and the market

    • Engage with priority clients and ecosystem partners to validate problems, test propositions, and drive adoption
    • Work with Business Development and Industry Engagement to ensure messaging and go-to-market plans align with strategy

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
