Senior Product Manager (API Portfolio) – The World’s Leading Provider of Secure Financial Messaging Services

About the Role
What to Expect: Core Responsibilities
- Lead & Coach Product Owners:
- Set clear product outcomes, decision rights, and ways of working
- Ensure high-quality backlogs with well-formed hypotheses,
- Enforce discovery/delivery best practices across squads
- API Portfolio Strategy & Roadmap:
- Define multi-year API ambition, including capabilities, markets, and adoption plans
- Prioritize roadmaps aligned with Swift’s digital assets strategy, client needs, and regulatory evolution
- Product Governance & Performance Management:
- Establish OKRs/KPIs (measuring adoption, reliability, time-to-integrate, revenue/benefits)
- Drive quarterly business reviews, manage trade-offs and escalate risks through governance forums
- Aligned Cross-Functional Delivery:
- Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Security, Risk, Legal/Compliance, and Operations
- Ensure APIs meet non-functional requirements (resilience, observability, identity/access, data protection)
- Provide relevance to regulated environments
- Customer & Market Alignment:
- Engage priority clients and ecosystem partners to validate problems, propose solutions, and guide adoption
- Work with Business Development and Industry Engagement for effective messaging and go-to-market plans
- Investment & Partnerships:
- Build business cases for roadmap items and quantify benefits
- Evaluate partner/inorganic opportunities that accelerate API capability, standardization, or distribution
- Leadership Scope:
- Lead a team of Product Owners across multiple workstreams
- Set product standards and decision cadence
- Influence senior stakeholders without direct authority

What Will Make You Successful?
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 7–10 years of experience in:
- Product management, platform/API product, business product leadership, or strategy/program leadership
- Leading Product Owners (directly or in a matrix format)
- Experience building and scaling API products (internal/external), including:
- Roadmap ownership, adoption metrics, and developer experience
- Banking industry knowledge (products, operations, regulatory environment) with applications in:
- Platform/API delivery decisions
- Experience working with Engineering & Architecture teams on:
- Non-functional requirements (security, resilience, data protection, observability)
- Ability to interact with and present to senior stakeholders, translating complexity into impactful decisions and actions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to lead complex, multi-workstream initiatives with:
- High visibility & executive engagement
- Balancing strategic intent and pragmatic delivery
- Financial services/market infrastructures exposure or digital assets/tokenization experience
- (Or demonstrable ability to learn quickly in regulated domains)
- Strong stakeholder management with experience:
- Aligning Product, Technology, Risk, Legal/Compliance, Operations, and Go-to-Market
- Engaging with clients and ecosystem partners to validate needs and drive adoption

Base Salary Range (Location: Virginia)
Annual Range: $147,163 USD to $273,303 USD
Note: Salary may vary based on job-related factors (knowledge, skills, experience, and location).
