Business Assistant - Griffin Ward

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Business Assistant to join the team at Griffin Ward, a female adult inpatient ward for patients with mental health illnesses at the Herschel Prins Centre.

In this supportive, innovative, and dynamic work environment, the Business Assistant will:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to a multi-disciplinary team

Key Responsibilities

As a Business Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Meeting & Minute-taking: Attend meetings, record minutes/notes, circulate documentation, log actions, and follow up to ensure critical tasks are prioritised
  • Diary Management: Organise your own and others’ schedules, coordinate appointments, implement flagging/prioritisation systems for emails
  • Front-of-House Support: Cover the main reception/airlock to assist the wider team when needed
  • Professional Communication: Create and format all official correspondence (letters, briefings, presentations, reports) to a high standard
  • Order & Inventory Management: Oversee purchasing of goods/services, monitor order progress, ensure accurate invoicing and receipt verification
  • Complaints Handling: Process complaints independently, resolve problems using initiative, and escalate when necessary

Requirements

We are looking for a motivated team player who demonstrates confidence in:

  • IT & Audio-typing skills (excellent proficiency required)
  • ** Written and verbal communication** (ability to liaise with service users in a calm and compassionate manner)
  • Proactive & Positive Collaboration with administrative and clinical teams

Additional Notes

  • All substantive roles include a 6-month probationary period (excluding clinical/medical staff)
