The Opportunity We’re looking for an experienced Business Change Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering transformation across United Utilities. Sitting within our Transformation & Strategic Programmes directorate, you’ll guide people-centred change, ensure business readiness and adoption of new ways of working that deliver measurable, tangible benefits. This is a role for someone who thrives in complexity, influences with confidence, welcomes ambiguity and brings clarity to change.

What You’ll Be Doing Managing change end-to-end on large, complex programmes and projects Developing and delivering change strategies and plans Conducting detailed change impact assessments Shaping and coordinating Change Networks including Deployment Leads, Change Champions, Training Teams and Communications Specialists Driving readiness activities, UAT alignment, and adoption reviews Matrix-manage training and communication delivery to ensure successful deployment and adoption Defining critical success factors that support benefits realisation Partnering closely with Business Analysts, Programme/Project Managers, and Technology to ensure seamless delivery Advocating continuous improvement across the Business Change Team, supporting the development of standardised tools and templates
What You’ll Bring Proven experience managing and embedding change in large, complex organisations Change Management Practitioner accreditation (APMG, PROSCI or similar) Ability to translate noise and vision into tangible outcomes Strong influencing skills with the confidence to advise and constructively challenge stakeholders Excellent stakeholder management capability Resilience, tenacity, and the ability to navigate ambiguity A coaching mindset that motivates and mobilises others

About the Team You’ll be joining an experienced, high-impact team that: Provides in-house consultancy on all aspects of change Leads change delivery across major, multi-directorate programmes Works collaboratively with People Services, Corporate Affairs, Delivery Teams, and Technology Services Utilises a network of Senior Leaders, People Managers, and Front-Line Colleagues Uses organisation-wide exposure to drive cross-directorate collaboration If you’re driven by meaningful transformation and want to help shape the future of water services for millions, we’d love to hear from you.
