About The Company

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence is a leading provider of digital, cyber, and intelligence solutions, with a global presence spanning ten countries and a team of approximately 4,500 experts. Renowned for its innovative approach, BAE Systems Digital Intelligence supports governments, armed forces, and commercial enterprises by collecting, connecting, and analyzing complex data to unlock digital advantages in the most demanding environments. The organization is committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions that enhance security, resilience, and operational effectiveness for its clients across various sectors.

About The Role

The Business Consultant role at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to national security initiatives and strategic projects that have a tangible impact on the safety and prosperity of the UK. As a Business Consultant, you will support clients throughout the project lifecycle, from initial business justification and strategy development to detailed design, planning, and implementation. This role requires building and maintaining trusted relationships with public sector customers, understanding their unique challenges, and providing strategic advice and innovative solutions to complex problems. The position is based in London or Manchester, with hybrid working arrangements available, accommodating both full-time and part-time applicants. The grade levels range from GG08 to GG13, reflecting a broad spectrum of experience and responsibility.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business consulting, with experience in articulating and achieving strategic goals. While experience in digital, technology, or cyber domains is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate skills in designing and implementing new business structures, developing compelling business cases, and providing regulatory or policy advice. Familiarity with briefing and advising public sector clients, especially within UK government agencies, will be highly regarded. A proactive attitude towards professional development, coupled with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, is essential. Candidates must also meet security clearance requirements, including holding an active eDV clearance prior to application.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
