The job:

As part of our continued growth and transformation journey, we’re excited to be looking for a Business Consultant to join our Organisational Effectiveness function. This role will support work aimed at reinventing how the business operates, helping ensure we have the structures, systems, processes and measures needed to deliver our strategic objectives.

This is a varied and highly visible role, working across the organisation to understand current ways of working, identify opportunities to improve effectiveness, increase transparency of performance and support practical, measurable transformation through the Catalyst programme and wider continuous improvement activity.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Supporting organisational effectiveness and business reinvention
    • You’ll work with leaders, teams and stakeholders across the business to understand how the organisation operates today and help shape practical improvements that support future growth.
    • You’ll help assess how the business works today, identify opportunities to improve operating structures, processes, governance and ways of working, and support changes that make the organisation more effective, scalable and value-led.

  • Contributing to the Catalyst programme

    • You’ll support the Organisational Effectiveness workstream within Catalyst, helping translate transformation objectives into practical actions, clear deliverables and measurable outcomes.
  • Improving performance transparency

    • You’ll help establish baseline measures, performance frameworks and reporting artefacts that give leaders better visibility of organisational performance, risks, opportunities and progress.
  • Turning insight into action

    • You’ll use data, stakeholder feedback, process insight and business analysis to identify improvement opportunities, support prioritisation and help build the case for change.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and quick wins

    • You’ll help identify, shape and deliver practical improvements that remove friction, reduce duplication, improve efficiency and create measurable value for colleagues, clients and the wider business.

Key skills and experience:

Business Analysis, Organisational Effectiveness and Transformation

  • Ability to analyse current ways of working and identify opportunities to improve organisational effectiveness, efficiency and value delivery.
  • Experience supporting transformation activity, operating model change or business improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to translate strategic priorities into practical actions, deliverables and measurable outcomes.

Performance, Data and Insight

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data, feedback and operational insight.
  • Confidence supporting the development of baseline measures, KPIs, KRIs, OKRs or other performance frameworks.
  • Ability to use evidence and insight to support prioritisation, business cases and improvement decisions.

Stakeholder Engagement and Facilitation

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Confident facilitating workshops, capturing requirements, mapping processes and building consensus around improvements.
  • Ability to challenge constructively and bring people with them through change.

Planning, Organisation and Delivery

  • Highly organised, with excellent time management, prioritisation and follow-through.
  • Ability to turn improvement opportunities into clear actions, owners, success measures and delivery plans.
  • Comfortable working across multiple initiatives, stakeholders and priorities.

Tools and Technical Skills

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office tools, process mapping approaches, reporting artefacts and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to document current-state and future-state processes clearly and consistently.
  • Comfortable working with data and reporting outputs to support business decision-making.

Essential Experience

  • Experience in a business analysis, business consulting, transformation, organisational effectiveness, process improvement, PMO, project delivery or operational improvement role.
  • Experience working across multiple teams or functions to understand challenges, improve ways of working and support adoption of new processes or operating practices.
  • Demonstrable experience identifying improvement opportunities, removing inefficiencies and supporting practical change that creates measurable value.
  • Experience supporting performance reporting, business cases, benefits tracking, process mapping, requirements gathering or change impact assessment.
  • Exposure to recognised delivery, change or improvement approaches such as Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, PRINCE2, business analysis or continuous improvement methods is desirable.
