Business Continuity Analyst

Business Continuity & ISO 22301 Analyst (IT Department)

Location: Nottingham, Hybrid (2/3 days per month) Contract Length: 6+ Months Day Rate: £260/day

About the Role: We are seeking a Business Continuity & ISO 22301 Analyst to support and enhance our Business Continuity Management framework.

This will involve close collaboration with technology, security, risk, and operational teams to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities remain robust across critical services.

The role offers a chance to develop expertise in both governance and technical resilience, with a focus on ISO 22301 compliance within a Microsoft-focused environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).
  • Develop, review, and update Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Disaster Recovery (DR) plans.
  • Conduct Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) and continuity-related risk assessments.
  • Work with business and technology teams to define critical services, dependencies, and recovery requirements.
  • Coordinate and support resilience testing, recovery exercises, and continuity validation.
  • Ensure continuity arrangements align with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in internal and external audits and ISO certification activities.
  • Maintain BC documentation, standards, procedures, and supporting materials.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across technology, security, risk, and operational functions.

Skills & Experience:

Must-Have:

  • Experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Operational Resilience, or IT Service Continuity.
  • Understanding of ISO 22301 principles and standards.
  • Experience supporting or maintaining Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Exposure to resilience testing, recovery exercises, tabletop exercises, or disaster recovery activities.
  • Familiarity with technology recovery concepts and service resilience.
  • Experience working within enterprise technology environments (preferably Microsoft 365 & Azure).
  • Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organisation, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Any prior involvement in audit, compliance, or risk management activities is advantageous.
