Business Continuity Planning Specialist – Risk & Resiliency Management
Location: Glasgow (office location), Potential travel: London (may include)
About the Role
We are seeking a Business Continuity Planning Specialist within Firm Resilience to support and enhance the Firm’s business continuity planning, testing, governance, and operational resilience capabilities. Our aim is to establish a globally integrated team that delivers world-class programs, processes, and technology solutions, capable of adapting swiftly to evolving risk landscapes and operational priorities.
Within Firm Resilience, the Business Continuity Planning team:
- Provides the framework and oversight for business continuity plan development
- Supports exercises, technology readiness testing, and continuous improvement based on lessons learned
- Maintains the policy and technology solutions that strengthen operational resilience across the Firm
This role functions within the Risk & Resiliency Management Associate job family, responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to ensure operational continuity under adverse conditions—including incident management.

Key Responsibilities
Business Continuity Planning & Governance
- Develop and maintain Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) in alignment with the Firm’s management policy and procedures
- Guide Business Unit Stakeholders on compliance with the BCP framework
- Ensure plans are updated, tested, and certified per policy requirements
- Conduct ongoing quality assurance (QA) reviews, documenting findings and recommendations for improvement
Project & Process Leadership
- Enhance, formalize, and standardize the BCP process within the organization
- Maintain and manage business recovery site arrangements
- Direct and oversee the annual cycle of BC Plan testing (including simulated site activation)
- Coordinate lessons-learned reviews following testing and disruptions
- Drive governance oversight via monthly reporting and escalation workflows
Emergency Response & Stakeholder Coordination
- Provide expertise and support during disruptive events, facilitating communications and escalations
- Collaborate with country management teams during crises
- Participate in internal exercises, including table-top scenarios
- Act as a program steward: influencing stakeholders and senior management toward operational resilience
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Business Continuity, or a related field OR equivalent experience
- Financial Services experience preferred
- Strong understanding of business continuity best practices, frameworks, and compliance
Experience & Skills
- 4+ years in relevant roles
- Financial Services sector experience (advantageous)
- Professional experience in Business Continuity Planning is highly valued
- Business Continuity certifications (e.g., Certified Business Continuity Professional [CBCP]) are a plus
- Practical familiarity with Fusion Risk Management Tool (beneficial)
