Technical Business/Data Analyst

💼 Short-term contract (potential for extension)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly capable Technical Business/Data Analyst to join a growing data transformation team supporting clients across the Asset Management and Asset Owner landscape.

This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, working closely with stakeholders to define requirements, assess current-state processes, design future-state data capabilities, and support the implementation of enterprise data management solutions.

The successful candidate will combine strong business analysis skills with a deep understanding of data management, data platforms, and operating models within investment management environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with business and technology stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business, functional, and data requirements.
  • Conduct current-state assessments to identify data challenges, risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support the design and implementation of Data Operating Models, including processes, governance, ownership, and controls.
  • Define data entities, data relationships, master data structures, and business data requirements.
  • Work alongside architects and engineering teams on the design and implementation of enterprise data management platforms.
  • Analyse and document integration requirements across multiple systems and data sources.
  • Support the development of Master Data Management (MDM) capabilities and data governance frameworks.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to identify and prioritise business use cases.
  • Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements and deliverables.
  • Support phased transformation programmes, ensuring solutions align with business drivers and measurable outcomes.
  • Contribute to target-state data architecture and modern data platform initiatives, including Medallion Architecture approaches where appropriate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
