Job Title: Business Data Analyst
Location: Milton Keynes - Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 depending on experience
Contract Type: Permanent
We are looking for a commercially minded and experienced Business Data Analyst to establish and lead data analysis capabilities across our Insurance and SME Benefits product areas.
As the first analyst dedicated to this space, this is a unique opportunity for a self-starter who thrives on building processes, creating structure, and shaping how data is used within a business. You will take ownership of the entire data lifecycle, from extracting, cleansing, and analysing complex datasets through to developing predictive models, generating actionable insights, and presenting findings to stakeholders and clients.
Working closely with teams across the organisation, you will transform historical and current performance data into meaningful recommendations that drive smarter decision-making, improve product performance, enhance operational efficiency, and support customer-focused outcomes. This is a true 360-degree data role, requiring someone with proven experience in delivering end-to-end data solutions and the confidence to work autonomously while influencing business strategy through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse historic performance data across insurance and benefits products to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement
- Develop and maintain regular reporting and dashboards to track product performance, customer outcomes, and operational metrics
- Translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations for stakeholders at all levels
- Partner with internal teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable analysis
- Identify opportunities to enhance product performance, customer value, and operational efficiency through data-driven insights
- Support the development and ongoing management of KPIs and performance frameworks
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all reporting outputs
- Investigate anomalies, emerging trends, and performance issues, identifying potential root causes
- Contribute to building scalable reporting and analytical processes as the first analyst in this area
- Establish best practices for data analysis, reporting standards, and documentation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve data quality and accessibility
- Present findings in a clear, engaging, and accessible way to support decision-making

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Advanced Excel skills, including:
- Lookups (e.g. VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
- Logical and statistical formulas
- Pivot tables and data modelling
- Charts, dashboards, and data visualisation
- Data validation and conditional formatting
- Proficiency in handling and analysing large datasets
- Strong experience delivering work to agreed deadlines and objectives
- Confident using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to present insights
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative approach with the ability to influence and gain buy-in
- Predictive modelling
