Business Data Analyst
Role: Business Data Analyst Location: Nottingham (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Start: July 2026 Employment Type: Permanent / Fixed Term
We are looking for a highly analytical and business-focused Business Data Analyst to support data-driven transformation initiatives within a complex enterprise environment. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business and technology, working closely with stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights, scalable solutions, and high-quality data-driven outcomes. You will play a key role in enabling better decision-making through robust analysis, reporting, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, analyse, and document business and data requirements Translate complex requirements into functional specifications, user stories, data mappings, and reporting definitions Perform data analysis, profiling, validation, and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and integrity Support the design and delivery of analytics solutions and enterprise data platforms Work closely with data engineers, architects, and QA teams to support data integration, testing, and UAT activities Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms Conduct gap analysis, root cause analysis, and trend analysis to provide actionable business insights Contribute to data governance, data quality, and data lineage initiatives Ensure alignment with enterprise data architecture, standards, and best practices What We’re Looking For:

Extensive experience working as a Business Data Analyst in enterprise environments Strong expertise in data analytics, business intelligence, and data-driven transformation programmes Proven ability to translate business needs into technical and analytical solutions Hands-on experience with SQL, Excel, and data analysis techniques Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and modern data warehouses Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance frameworks Experience building insightful dashboards and reports to support decision-making Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills Ability to operate effectively in cross-functional, Agile delivery environments
