Business Data & Process Lead

12-Month Contract (Primarily On-Site in Cambridge, ~2 Days/Week)

About the Role

Whitehall Resources is seeking a Business Data & Process Lead to support a key client on a 12-month contract, operating outside IR35.


Typical Accountabilities

  • Support the Global R&D deployment workstream, ensuring adherence to project timelines and objectives
  • Develop and maintain clear roadmaps that address:
    • Immediate priorities
    • Long-term goals
  • Establish a deep understanding of the technology landscape by:
    • Analysing existing processes
    • Identifying gaps and opportunities using past experience/knowledge
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (including GPPM, finance, and IT teams) to:
    • Capture requirements
    • Integrate them into the project scope
    • Define end-to-end business processes and data flows
  • Translate business needs into clear, structured requirements for technical teams
  • Support technical ideation, development, and build, including:
    • Aligning on control records, entity relationships, and persistent identifiers for key data elements
    • Working with data product owners to define:
      • Data products
      • Source-to-target mappings
      • Required transformations
  • Assist in SIT, UAT, and change management activities to enable smooth production delivery
  • Lead workshops and meetings to:
    • Collect feedback
    • Devise appropriate action plans
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies

  • Extensive experience and expertise in:
    • Business systems
    • Data platforms (e.g., Snowflake)
    • R&D-specific systems (e.g., Planisware or PLANIT)
  • Proven experience in:
    • ERP transformation
    • Business Improvement using SAP or technical data roles
  • Strong business analysis skills with:
    • Analytics expertise
  • Ability to:
    • Lead across geographies and cultures
  • Excellent:
    • Communication skills
    • Interpersonal skills
  • Degree in a relevant discipline

Desirable Qualifications

  • Regulatory experience (e.g., GxP, SOx)
  • Industry-specific background in:
    • Bio-tech
    • Pharmaceuticals
    • Life Sciences
  • Experience in:
    • Large-scale, complex, multi-year projects
  • Workshop Management expertise
