Business Development Manager – Amazon Shipping UK
About the Role
Amazon is pioneering innovation in the Operations and Logistics space and is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and analytical Business Development Manager to join Amazon Shipping UK.
Amazon Shipping aims to accelerate growth across 2026 and beyond, and we are looking for ambitious individuals to help shape this mission. This hands-on, self-starter role requires comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced, start-up environment. The successful candidate will design their own work structure, build self-prospected sales pipelines, and work toward ambitious product adoption goals—both broadening market reach across industries and cultivating long-term partnerships.
As part of the team, you will identify and secure new customers and partners, while also onboarding and managing these relationships, expanding your technical and project management expertise. Your responsibilities will require cross-functional coordination with teams including Marketing, Operations, Procurement, Finance, and IT, ensuring you deliver against revenue targets with confidence.
Key Responsibilities

Prospecting and Lead Generation (Self-Prospecting)
- Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities for Amazon Shipping
- Build a pipeline of high-value leads to drive adoption and market share growth

Client Engagement & Relationship Building
- Develop strategic client relationships tailored to each business’ needs
- Proactively lead negotiations and close deals

Customer Launch, Onboarding & Account Management
- Lead onboarding processes to ensure smooth adoption for new clients
- Deliver spend optimisation strategies and product adoption upsell

Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Analyse processes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and enhance end-user experiences
- Play an active role in driving business expansion and resolving challenges
A Day in the Life
Expect a dynamic role with variety. Your duties will include:
- As sales funnels in Logistics, Supply Chain, and Shipping industry trends
- Utilise retaining a strong pipeline via proactive lead generation and engagement
- Engage with multi-faceted client relationships—earning trust and negotiating terms favourably
- Managing contract creation and ensuring seamless customer onboarding
- Post-onboarding, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and spend optimisation
- Constantly seek ways to scale processes, reduce costs and drive performance
Basic Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Proven experience in business development, partner development, sales or alliances management
- Experience in B2B sales or business development engagements
- Hands-on experience owning and closing external negotiations or deals
- Familiarity with managing sales pipelines from prospecting through to negotiation and closing
- Experience using sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or comparable systems

Preferred Qualifications
- Track record of building and managing effective sales pipelines
- Proven ability to exceed revenue or growth targets
- Strong, independent self-prospecting skills in B2B environments
- Direct experience with customer onboarding, launch management or account management
- Background from start-ups, fast-moving companies or ambiguous work environments
- The ability to develop proprietary sales strategies autonomously
