Business Development Account Manager
Role: Business Development/Account Manager
Location: Northwest England (Manchester, Liverpool, Chester & Lake District areas)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Mon - Fri 8:00am – 4:30pm (100% office based unless out on the road)
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum + Car + Benefits
We are currently recruiting for a professional, relationship-focused Business Development / Client Account Manager for our client based near the Newton/Haydock area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of existing customers, re-engaging previous users of services, and generating business opportunities from an extensive company database.
This is not a high-pressure sales environment or a commission-driven role. Instead, we are seeking an individual who enjoys building long-term relationships, providing excellent customer service, and identifying opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop relationships with existing customers across the Northwest region.
- Reactivate lapsed and non-current customers through regular contact and relationship building.
- Conduct customer visits and meetings throughout Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, the Lake District, and surrounding areas.
- Work closely with an experienced operational team member who will provide technical and industry support.
- Maintain regular communication with customers via telephone, email, and face-to-face meetings.
- Produce accurate customer records and updates using company systems.
- Develop a strong understanding of customer requirements and provide suitable service solutions.
Required Skills:
- Previous experience in Business Development, Account Management, or Sales.
- Background within Freight Forwarding, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Industrial Services, Distribution, or a similar B2B environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable visiting customers and developing business opportunities throughout the Northwest.
- A professional and trustworthy individual who can work independently and represent the business positively.
- Full UK driving licence.
