Ardea Investment Management is hiring a Business Development Analyst in our London office.

A rare early career role for a quant who wants more than a back office seat.

You'll build a deep understanding of our relative value fixed income strategies and the "why" behind our trades, then work with our Distribution team to turn that insight into sharp client communication and thought leadership for institutional investors.

About Us

Ardea Investment Management is a specialist fixed income manager known for one of the most distinctive relative value approaches in the industry. We're a small, high-performance team where every person carries real weight, and this role is no exception.

We're looking for a quantitatively trained Business Development Analyst to sit at the intersection of investment strategy, research, and client communication. You'll work closely with our Distribution team to translate Ardea's relative value approach, trade rationale, portfolio construction and risk framework into materials and messaging that stand up in front of sophisticated institutional and wholesale clients.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This isn't a support role. You'll own the quality of what goes in front of clients decks, investor updates, due diligence responses and be trusted to get the technical detail right without hand holding.

What you'll do

  • Build a genuine understanding of Ardea's strategies, portfolio positions, and sources of return
  • Translate technical and quantitative concepts into clear, client-ready communication
  • Prepare materials for client meetings, investor updates, and thought leadership
  • Support the Distribution team with technical input on strategy positioning and performance
  • Manage RFPs, DDQs, and ESG questionnaires once scope is agreed.

What you'll bring

  • A degree in a quantitative discipline: Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Applied Maths, AI, or Machine Learning
  • Strong analytical capability and comfort working with financial datasets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to shift between technical depth and plain English depending on the audience
  • Advanced PowerPoint and data visualisation skills
  • High attention to detail

Understanding of fixed income and relative value strategies is a strong advantage, as is prior exposure to institutional investor communications or due diligence processes. CFA candidacy is a plus, not a requirement.

If you're intellectually curious, comfortable asking sharp questions, and want to work somewhere your output is actually read and relied upon, we'd like to hear from you. Please send your resume to careers@ardea.com.au.
