We are working with a highly regarded and long-established London law firm that is looking to appoint a Business Development and Marketing Executive to join its growing Business Services team.
This is a particularly exciting time to join. The firm has made a number of recent senior hires across its Business Services functions and is investing in strategic, technology-led and innovation-focused projects across the business.
Working closely with both the Business Development Director and the Marketing and Communications Director, this is a broad role offering exposure across the full business development and marketing mix.
On the Business Development Side
- Support a range of initiatives designed to help drive the firm’s continued growth.
- This will include market and client research, identifying and tracking new business opportunities, supporting targeting initiatives, helping to coordinate client and referrer meetings and events, and developing materials for pitches and proposals.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

On the Marketing Side
- Play an important role in the continued roll-out and development of the firm’s new CRM technology.
- Help to coordinate activity, maintain data quality and support wider initiatives designed to embed a strong business development culture across the firm.
- The marketing element of the role will include coordinating the firm’s legal directory submissions programme across publications including Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500.
- This will involve working closely with partners, fee earners and internal teams to gather information, manage deadlines and referee processes, and ensure submissions are delivered to a high standard.
- The emphasis is primarily on coordination and project management rather than drafting submissions from scratch.
Requirements
The firm is looking for an ambitious and career-minded individual who is proactive, confident and keen to continue developing their business development and marketing experience. Previous experience within a law firm or wider professional services environment would be advantageous, although it is not essential where someone can demonstrate strong transferable skills and the right aptitude.
