Sales & Business Development Manager
Location: Aberdeen (with occasional international travel) Type: Full-time, permanent
About the Role
TEXO Recruitment has the opportunity for a dynamic Sales & Business Development Manager with our client—a globally recognised controls technology company specialising in the energy sector. With over 60 years of experience, this leader delivers innovative solutions to enhance reliability, optimise performance, and extend the operational life of critical infrastructure.
Our client is expanding its decommissioning, intervention, and late-life asset portfolio and seeks a commercially focused professional to drive growth, develop relationships, and deliver successful solutions.
The Opportunity
An exciting chance for an oil and gas sector specialist to:
- Play a critical role in business development
- Develop new business opportunities
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Support commercial strategy, from proposal development to project delivery
Reporting to the commercial leadership team, you’ll align technical and commercial expertise to meet strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute business strategies to grow market share in decommissioning, intervention, and late-life asset support.
- Identify, qualify, and progress new business opportunities, maintaining a healthy sales pipeline.
- Work closely with operators, EPC contractors, service companies, and technology partners.

Sales Lifecycle Management
- Manage customer enquiries from initial contact to project completion, ensuring solutions align with technical and commercial needs.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and technical presentations, including IWOCS tendering process coordination.
- Represent the company at industry exhibitions, networking events, and marketing initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver integrated technical solutions.
- Provide product and technical support, including occasional international travel.
Performance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM records for sales forecasting, reporting, and planning.
- Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings, delivering updates on bid activity and forecasted revenue.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
- Produce regular sales reports against business objectives.

Essential Experience
- Proven sales and business development experience in the oil and gas sector.
- Strong knowledge of decommissioning and intervention markets.
- Experience with product and system sales in the energy industry.
- Familiarity with IWOCS control systems and applications.
Technical & Commercial Skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to build long-term client relationships.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics).
Attributes
- Proactive, self-motivated approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness for occasional international travel.
