Own the room. Build the relationships. Grow the sector.
Layrd is one of the UK’s fastest-growing design and build studios, creating immersive environments for leading wellness brands and iconic sports destinations. Following significant growth, we’re now focused on two specialist sectors: Sports & Stadia and Lifestyle & Leisure.
We’re looking for a commercially driven Business Development & Client Manager to own our growth within the Lifestyle & Leisure sector. This is a rare opportunity to take real ownership of a sector, build relationships with some of the UK’s most exciting fitness operators, wellness brands, hotels, spa groups and leisure destinations — and directly shape the spaces defining the future of wellbeing. If you’re ambitious, client-obsessed and ready to own something, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing strategic relationships and supporting clients throughout their journey with Layrd. This isn’t a high-volume sales role. It’s about becoming a trusted partner within the industry and helping clients realise exceptional projects. You’ll have genuine autonomy to build the sector your way — backed by a talented design team, an established brand and real ambition for growth. Working closely with our CEO, Head of Lifestyle & Leisure and design team, you’ll help deliver our ambitious growth plans.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
