ROLE DESCRIPTION
As a Business Development Consultant (BDC) at OnTheMarket, you’ll drive growth, nurture client relationships, and champion OTM’s products within a purpose-driven, dynamic team. Your entrepreneurial, consultative approach will accelerate the journey to becoming the UK’s #1 residential property portal.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop business growth by sourcing, generating, and expanding new business opportunities for OnTheMarket.
- Deep understanding of OTM’s product suite and how it aligns with customer needs.
- Prospecting & lead generation: Identifying and contacting potential new clients effectively.
- Face-to-face sales: Meeting new and existing clients to present offerings and addresses challenges.
- Negotiation: Securing and managing terms with clients while mitigating risks.
- Collaboration: Partnering with senior team members to implement strategies and report results.
- Pitching & relationship-building: Leveraging strong communication, product knowledge, and consultative selling skills to attract buyers.
- Representation: Hosting and attending industry events to network with property professionals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven sales success, ideally in property portals or online marketplaces. Other relevant sales backgrounds considered.
- Long-term client retention and growth, with a track record of exceptional service.
- Confident communicator: Strong presentational, objection-handling, and consultative selling skills.
- Organisational acumen: Ability to work methodically with metrics and goals.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent industry experience.
- Consultative mindset: Experience in account management, building relationships, and problem-solving.
- Navigational skills: Understanding of organisational dynamics (decision-makers, influencers, blockers).
- Mobility requirement: Valid driving license required + ability to travel frequently for extended or intermittent periods (driving record check pre-employment).
