-
About the Role A fintech and MPS (Multi Platform Service) firm is seeking a Business Development Consultant to take ownership of financial adviser (IFA) relationships. This role offers the opportunity to develop your commercial skills, advance your career within a growing organisation, and transition from supportive roles (such as adviser administration or account servicing) into a more commercial function.
-
Responsibilities
- Work with a mix of inbound leads and proactively sourced opportunities, expanding your network and establishing long-term relationships with financial advisers (IFAs).
- Focus on relationship-building instead of hard-selling, with success driven by trust, awareness, and service-led consultative selling.
- Manage leads, develop existing contacts, and attend industry events and conferences to forge new connections.
- Follow warm inbound referrals, nurture leads, and convert IFA interest into sustainable, long-term business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
